Another AMAZING design by Horibe Naoko Architect Office: located in Osaka, Japan. The “house in Tataksuki” is an architectural masterpiece (in my humble opinion) which was built as a two story private dwelling for a couple and their children. Built in a crowded area of the city the building is centered around a central courtyard. A cherry blossum tree, which is located in the center of the courtyard, can be seen from the street as well as the alley way at the side of the house.

A lovely design; simple and crisp.

Horibe Naoko Architect Office; A house in Hatsugano

My knowledge about architectural firms is lacking (to say the least) but Horibe Naoko Architect Office is one firm that I was recently introduced to. This particular house is located in Osaka, Japan. The design of the house is centered around the courtyard and serves as the prime focus. Beautifully lit with natural light this design is simply amazing in my opinion: minimal, simple, perfect. I have a feeling there were will be more posts thanks to Horibe Naoko Architect Office

House on the water by John Pardey architects. The house sits on the river Lodden near the town of Wargrave, England. A lovely design; modern and simple. May I go as far as calling it a bit ‘cheeky’?

The Minimal Backpack by Outlier. Made from nonwoven dyeema (which is stronger than steel yet light enough to floot on water, highly UV resistant, and 100% waterproof) this pack functions perfectly and looks great doing it. Outlier has recently become one of, if not, my favorite  ’tailored performance’ company hailing from Brooklyn, New York. Their designs are minimal and incredibly functional. All of their clothing is made from high end material and created in limited quantities.

The second pack is the HMG Stuff Pack from Hyperlite Mountain Gear. Outlier and HMG actually teamed up to create Outlier’s Minimal Backpack (if you couldn’t tell from the design of the pack) but this black/colorless pack is Hyperlite’s original. It is constructed from CF11 which is a heavy and highly durable laminate. Hyperlite Mountain Gear is located in Biddeford, Maine where they design, produce, and supply highly durable lightweight/ultralight weight outdoor gear.

Skarva Dining table by Forsberg Form. Measures 180(290)x90x72 cm.
Another awesome design from the land of the norse. Forsberg Form is based out of Goteberg, Sweden. They work with concrete to form unexpected interior fittings and furniture. I think it was extremely cool to come across a company using concrete as a medium the way that Forsberg Form does. Innovative, modern, and minimal: the best. But what else do you expect from Sweden?

Bauhaus Staircase by Oskar Schlemmer. Oil and canvas, 1932
Oskar Schlemmer was a German painter and sculptor, as well as a choreographer and stage designer. In 1920 Walter Gropius asked Schlemmer to come and teach at the Bauhaus in Weimar where he would run the mural-painting and sculpture department. Later he would run the workshop on theatre in 1923.
